“Strengthening minds have worked in partnership with the Charlton Athletic Football Club’s Academy since 2014. They have been a key member as part of the pastoral support team at Harris Academy Greenwich, working in tandem with the Academy’s Full Time Football Programme that has been based at HAGR since 2012.
Strengthening Minds has worked with a number of our ‘challenged’ young players / students in that time. As with any learning organisation that works with young people our Academy has had a number of lads that have exhibited behaviours that have been detrimental to the learning and development.
After exploring what support Steve may be able to offer with his bespoke workshops I decided to allow Steve the opportunity to work them on a one-to-one basis. His impact has been considerable, with each young player showing visible signs of ‘change’ in the time that Steve worked with them.
         Over the past 3 years Steve has been a pleasure to work with. He has a genuine affection and care for the young people that he provides support, and this is evidenced by the way in which those young people talk about him. This, for me is always the true measure and impact of any professionals’ work.”
